Through independent partnerships, we annually calculate and compensate for all our emissions by planting rain forest trees in Sri Lanka, the second home of our company. We’re in it all the way. That means fully owned and operated facilities in Sri Lanka where we get to be a part of and take responsibility for the whole process - from raw materials to finished products. This also ensures well-compensated workers who, let’s be honest, we wouldn’t be anything without.
Who is better suited to be showcased than the people behind our products? And by those, we mean our incredibly talented workers at our facilities in Sri Lanka. One of our tailors, Nawa, has been a part of our journey since the very beginning. He joined Tailor Store as our first tailor back in 2004 and still, to this day, continues to share his expertise and knowledge on customized clothing at our facility in Maho.
It’s not until you place your order that we begin to produce it. We don’t hold any unnecessary stocks of unflattering ready-to-wear standard sizes, because why should we? There’s more in it for you and our planet to go custom. You’ll get a garment made simply for you and nobody else. Help us take another step away from an unsustainable consumption.
We’re doing our very best to make sure nothing goes to waste inside our production. That includes both investing in smart equipment that minimizes fabric waste, while also making use of the waste that is inevitable. A perfect example of this is a project we’ve launched where, after the cutting process is finished, leftover fabric waste is donated or sold at an extremely low rate to local families. These families then make use of the fabric by making carpets and rugs. This project is not about any financial interest from our end, but about us wanting to help and support the local communities in any way we possibly can. Due to this circular system, we're assisting local communities as well as creating usage of fabric waste that else would go to waste.
Global Organic Textile (GOT) is a global certification that enures our organic textiles are socially and environmentally sustainable. This certification covers the harvest and processing of raw material to the manufacturing of the end product. The Global Organic Textile's social criteria is based on the key norms of the International Labour Organization (ILO).
